With entry and exit tones, meeting participants hear an audio cue when someone joins or leaves by default. However, tones can be turned off, which is advantageous with large meetings to avoid distracting audio cues each time a person joins or drops.
The Company Administrator now has a setting to disable recording meetings. When invoked, this setting is a company-wide policy.

The shared digital whiteboard allows meeting participants to brainstorm and draw diagrams collaboratively, then save them as an attachment in the space for a record of the collaborative session. The whiteboard is available in the browser user experience without a download or plug-in.
The Avaya Spaces iOS mobile experience now supports “Hey Siri” commands to send and read messages, join spaces, and make voice and video calls.

Content sharing in meetings is now supported from both iOS and Android devices–highly useful, especially for tablet users presenting remotely. Shut off notifications to minimize distractions when presenting, as this capability will share everything on the device screen. To avoid sending an overlaid Picture in Picture during presentations, turn off Picture in Picture capability in device settings.

Users can now test their video and audio before joining a video call in the Avaya Spaces mobile app.
When adding an attachment to a new chat message, users can share content from other apps using the Avaya Spaces mobile app.
Instead of a traditional Avaya Spaces one-on-one chat, now users can extend a one-on-one chat to a group of users, including in the mobile experience.
With this new capability, administrators can customize Avaya Spaces with their company logo visible in both the web user experience and desktop app.

Now Admins of Avaya Spaces accounts can apply new themes to their user experience through the Admin Portal. You will find the themes on your Dashboard and in your group and private spaces.
The Avaya Spaces Outlook Meeting Scheduler plug-in is available, tailored for Avaya Spaces, and packed with value. It can be installed by end-users or company IT without any end-user involvement.
Full feature performance requires Outlook ’19 or higher and is not supported by Outlook on iOS or Android.
An Admin of a group space can now update the space Owner in the mobile app. To access this feature, go under the Edit Space -> General tab. There is a new section showing the space Owner, and depending on the user’s role in the space, and the user can change the Owner of the space.

Users can update their preferred resolution during a meeting on their mobile device. The options are: 720p, 480p, 360p, and Audio Only. This setting is under More Options -> Video Quality when in a meeting.
The emoji library has been enhanced and now has a search bar. Users can find their favorite emojis faster.
Note that this is available in the browser and desktop application.

Users can update their theme to Dark mode in the Avaya Spaces mobile app. This feature is found in User Preferences.
Users can now sync their Office 365 or Google Calendar in the Avaya Spaces mobile app. In addition, the Avaya Spaces mobile app enables users to view their meeting schedules from multiple collaboration tools in a single place.
Note that there is a one-time setup to view calendars from the mobile app.
Avaya Spaces mobile app users can leverage their Avaya Aura voice infrastructure and make phone calls with this enhancement.
Note that this capability needs to be deployed and configured by the Avaya Spaces and Avaya Aura administrators.
Emojis have been enhanced to appear consistently across all devices, and performance is now optimized to display them almost immediately, even on slow networks.

Avaya Spaces users can now check their voicemail in the Spaces dashboard. Voicemail can be accessed through the new voicemail icon (it will show a red dot indicating a message) and automatically call the assigned voicemail number. A red dot on the dashboard icon also indicates new messages, and these indicators clear once the messages are accessed.
Note: The user must have an Avaya Aura phone number and set up their voicemail first.
In the Avaya Spaces browser-based and desktop app environments, the Admin or Member of a group space can invite up to 100 people at a time via a CSV file. After uploading up to 100 individuals, not only will this feature notify about errors, it will also inform if the emails uploaded are incorrect and will give the Admin or Member the option to correct mistakes.
Admins of group and direct spaces can now apply enhanced Immersive Room themes to their video meeting experiences. This feature simulates various meeting environments such as a coffee shop, classroom, office, and an auditorium, as well as an Avaya branded room.
There is new functionality within Avaya Spaces where an admin of a group space can update the owner of the space or can change ownership to another owner who is also currently an admin of the space. This will help keep teams from skipping a beat as project and team leaders change.

You might have noticed a new AI Noise Removal button if you have placed a call recently leveraging your Avaya Aura Platform. You can now use the Avaya Spaces AI Noise Removal feature on voice calls connecting through Avaya Aura.
You will notice two new icons in your Dashboard that will help you navigate straight to your Avaya Spaces and other meetings. This enhancement helps differentiate non-Spaces meeting links (Google Meet, Webex, etc.) and improves your total experience within Avaya Spaces.
Note this icon will not show up when phone numbers are placed in the meeting location.

With the new enhanced Background Blur feature, you can blur the background of your video, obscuring precisely who or what is behind you.
You can find this feature in More Options while in a meeting. After clicking on the icon, a list will pop up. From there, click on Virtual Background, and you will be provided the option of Blur. After that is chosen, the feature will be activated.
To take advantage of the processing power of Apple's M1 chip, Avaya Spaces now runs on the M1 chip natively. When the browser supports the M1 natively, Avaya Spaces will take advantage of the extra processing power. A desktop application is also available from the Add-ons section within the Spaces Dashboard.
The Avaya Spaces Dashboard has a smoother and sleeker new look. We unified the dashboard tab experience into one window. This improvement streamlines your focus on upcoming meetings, recent history, and posts.

The user interface design in Avaya Spaces has been enhanced. The visual tweaks include new font, spacing, unread badge placement, and hover treatment updates to create a cleaner and sleeker new look.
In Immersive Presentation mode you can now have the videos of up to four presenters overlaid on content during a meeting. This can be selected by an admin of the group space.

While our algorithms augmented with artificial intelligence provide the best experience for meeting participants, sometimes you may want to lower your meeting bandwidth consumption or have an audio only conference. This new feature allows space admins and meeting participants to manually adjust their maximum video resolution or set capabilities to audio only.
Sharing a video or showing a demo is now easier and higher quality with our high-performance Share Video Clip feature.
This feature is found when you click the Share button, and a feature menu will pop up. Meeting participants will hear and see the video that is being played with high quality and without a plug-in.
The Company Admin now has more options to set permissions that apply to all spaces. A Company Admin can control which users can chat, post, add tasks, or upload files. Company-level permissions control the capabilities that a space admin can set for a specific space. For example, if you disable Attachment Upload in the Admin Area, the space admin cannot manage file upload permissions within the space.
We enhanced our AI Immersive Presentation feature to provide more engaging virtual experiences. You can now have videos of up to five presenters overlaid on content during a meeting. This can be selected by an admin of the group space.

We've enhanced @ mentions. Now, when you are in a large group space and need to notify the whole space or just one contributor, use the @ symbol.
For one contributor, go to the bottom of the chat panel, then type "@" before their name and select them from the menu that appears. They will receive a notification that takes them directly to the point in the conversation where they were mentioned.
To get the entire group's attention, type "@Space."
Quickly see who's in a meeting, who's actively speaking, or who raised their hand. Also, if you invited guests to a group space, you can quickly filter to see who they are as well as the admins and members.
This feature is especially helpful during large meetings because you can quickly filter through the participant roster to see attendance and actions.

Avaya Spaces is integrated into your Office 365 calendar and provides you with specific meeting locations when scheduling a meeting.
It is located on the left of your Avaya Spaces dashboard. It syncs with your calendar, and as your meetings get updated during the day, simply click the two revolving arrows to refresh your calendar.
Invite up to 1,000 people. Use the 61-participant HD concert view to bring your session to the next stage of face-to-face. You can find this feature in your group space settings.
