Avaya Builds Syscomm a Network for Next Generation IT and Communication Services

16 May 2016
Avaya Fabric Connect gives Syscomm’s network greater speed, resilience, performance and flexibility
Santa Clara, Calif. — May 16, 2016 — For Syscomm Limited, a UK-based service provider that offers IT and communications services to a wide range of business customers, the bottom line is simple: its network is its business. The company had outgrown its legacy network and needed a more scalable solution to enhance performance of its core services, accelerate provisioning and simplify infrastructure management. Avaya Fabric Connect enabled Syscomm to replace its aging MPLS network with a brand new fabric infrastructure within a tight timeframe without disrupting existing customers or services.
The new Avaya network infrastructure provided Syscomm with the following benefits:
•        Access to new services that can now be provisioned in minutes, with no interruption to customers and reduced provisioning risks.
•        Instant failover and rapid diagnosis of any faults.
•        Fabric to customer sites, which created minimal latency with maximum security.
•        The ability to optimize network and service design with unprecedented scalability, nationally or internationally.
Delivering the added resilience that Syscomm sought, the new infrastructure was put to the test just weeks after implementation when a major London data center experienced a prolonged power failure, disrupting services for several leading Internet firms. While dozens of hosted service providers were struggling, Syscomm’s customers experienced no disruption.
“Recently, when the power was flapping up and down at a London data center site, our network just carried on. All of our traffic instantly rerouted over alternative paths. There wasn’t even a ripple of disruption for any customer service on our network. We lost a whole data center, and not a single customer reported a fault.”
