However, in order to conduct global business in this increasingly electronic economy, the collection of Personal Data is often necessary and desirable. The Collection of Personal Data
Please be aware that most of our websites are available and open to you without having to provide any Personal Data (defined below). Tell-A-Friend

Collecting Domain Information
 
Avaya also collects domain information (e.g. IP address and referring URLs) as part of its analysis of the use of this site. This data enables us to become more familiar with which customers visit our site, how often they visit and what parts of the site they visit most often. Avaya uses this information to improve its web-based offerings. This information is collected automatically and requires no action on your part. We do not tie Personal Data to domain information, except as necessary to prevent abuse or fraud on our site.
 
Disclosure to Third Parties
 
If you request something from the Avaya Web site, for example, a product or service, a callback, or specific marketing materials, we will use the information you provide to fulfill your request. Use of Tracking Technologies
 
Some Avaya websites use "cookies," which are small files that the site places on your hard drive for identification purposes. Some of our business partners (e.g., tracking utility services) use cookies and web beacons on our site.  Our third party tracking utility services company uses a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective.  Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users.  In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence.  These clear gifs are not tied to our customers' personally identifiable information.  We have no access to or control over these third party tracking technologies.

We will retain your information for as long as needed to provide you services.  If you wish to request that we no longer use your information to provide you services contact us at executiveoffic@avaya.com.  We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
In the event Avaya conducts a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a significant portion of its assets, your personally identifiable information (Personal Data) will likely be among the assets transferred.  You will be notified via email or prominent notice on our Web site for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control of your Personal Data.
