Avaya Appoints New Executive Leadership in Corporate Strategy and Government Solutions

Santa Clara, Calif. – Sept. 1, 2016 - Avaya today announced two new executives have been appointed to lead corporate strategy and government solutions.

Mark Castleman joins as vice president, Corporate Strategy, to evolve the company’s strategic vision as well as evaluate and develop partnerships and new business ventures. Mark’s lengthy resume in the software and communications industry includes tenures as a CEO, startup founder, product leader, designer, board member, startup mentor and investor. Currently a limited partner with Capital Factory and serving on the boards of Cerebri AI and Preschool2Me, Castleman was previously Bell Labs’ first Entrepreneur in Residence where he built and led FutureX Labs, a program designed reinvigorate the lab’s research by infusing entrepreneurial, market-driven perspectives. Prior to Bell Labs, he served as CEO of Vobi, a pioneer in contextual communications, and he spent more than a decade as President of PBX Central. Castleman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and studied Linguistics at Georgetown University.

Jerry Dotson has been elevated to lead Avaya Government Solutions as vice president, Civilian and Advanced Programs. An experienced executive who combines technical expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction, Jerry’s primary focus is on designing and implementing effective and trusted communications networks to enable the diverse agency missions supported by Avaya Government Solutions. Prior to his tenure at Avaya, Jerry was with CSC where he was responsible for a number of enterprise IT programs at the Departments of State, Treasury and several other Federal government organizations.  Jerry holds Bachelor’s and Master of Divinity degrees from CornerStone Christian University and a Doctorate of Ministerial Studies from Kingsbury University.  He also completed an Executive Master of Business Administration program at Duke University.
