Allegiant Technology and Avaya Ready to Bust Brackets
You can consider it a full court press, double-team, fast break or a monster dunk. But no matter what you call it, Allegiant Technology and Avaya bring their A-Games to the biggest tournament in college basketball, creating experiences that matter, and that basketball fans go mad for. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) hosts a convention leading up to and culminating in the Division I Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament. This is the 7th year Avaya and Allegiant USA have delivered a ‘nothing but net’ type of experience for fans, staff, press, media, teams and more.
Founded in 1927, the NABC encompasses coaches from all levels of play — high school to college to semi-pro. They also own the tournament and all events leading up to it for basketball professionals in every aspect of the sport. The NABC is committed to furthering the best interests of the game for the players, the coaches and more.
The NABC Convention is the nation’s premier professional development and networking event for basketball coaches. While the final two teams that face off are the main attraction, the NABC also hosts a series of educational sessions and meetings and own all events leading up to the tournament, where attendees have access to programming that includes Professional Development Series clinics, the AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show, the Reese’s College All-Star Game, and the NABC MARKETPLACE trade show.
Approximately 8,000 coaches will be in attendance talking strategy, discussing rules, sharing experiences, and yep- you guessed it, changing jobs. The whole event provides ample opportunities for connecting on and off the court. During the convention, coaches will make/receive as many calls in the short 6-week span as they would in any given 3-month period all year.
The excitement began March 17th, starting with Selection Sunday, the two words every college basketball fan loves to hear. The tournament is comprised of a 68-team single elimination structure across 67 games over a period of 19 days. The full schedule is pre-determined and will be played across 14+ locations throughout the tournament, but the final teams have yet to be decided. To some, the most important part of the tournament culminates in the final four teams facing off across a weekend of playoffs from April 6 – 8 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The indoor stadium opened in 2016 and is home to the Minnesota Vikings; it also hosts early season college baseball games for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. U.S. Bank Stadium is not just a location, but an epicenter of excitement, opportunity, and Minnesota pride accommodating 73,000 fans for special events.
