Avaya Academy is Building and Celebrating Future Leaders

Transformation at Avaya is about more than our business model. We are driving a significant cultural transformation that will help us better serve customers and position our organization for long-term success. While we continue to invest in leading-edge technology, we are also taking innovative approaches to investing in our people to enable customer and partner success.

We recently celebrated a major milestone in our commitment to the future, with the graduation of our inaugural Avaya Academy class. Avaya Academy is an immersive development program for new hires in customer-facing functions that helps these individuals enter the field with exceptional training, advanced industry knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset that will propel the company and its partners into the future.

Their journey began a year ago, when we recruited 50 talented, motivated and diverse individuals from 15 countries for this 360-degree learning experience. Yes, they learn through rigorous training and credential programs spanning the Unified Communications (UC) and Contact Center (CC) markets, with emphasis on Avaya solutions for Cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployments. But even more, our experienced colleagues from around the world mentor them, demonstrating how to build customer and partner relationships. And most important, everyone learns from each other, gaining fresh perspectives and new ways to solve challenges and get closer to our customers. The ongoing exchange of diverse points of view makes every decision a better one. Every better decision helps build our credibility and customer loyalty.

At the recent GITEX technology expo in Dubai, we brought the class together to acknowledge their achievements with a ceremony and celebration. And they represented Avaya in our stand on the GITEX show floor, leading demos, engaging with customers and partners, and representing the new Avaya to the world. Now they will return to their respective countries to connect businesses of all sizes with Avaya digital communications software, services, and devices—solutions that are open, intelligent, and customizable to meet customer-specific needs.

The graduates will also partner with members of the new Avaya Academy class of recruits, to support the new members with additional mentorship, providing guidance and support. This is only the beginning of how we are reshaping our learning approach, our culture, and our company.

We’ve also just launched the Avaya Talent Exchange Program, where eligible employees can apply to perform their jobs in another part of the world for up to six months. It’s another way we can increase our collaboration across geographies, foster the cultural intelligence needed in today’s competitive global market, and build our next generation of leaders.

Our markets are moving fast, and so are we. We are investing in our people, in our future. Our Avaya Academy class demonstrated more than just our solutions this week. They showed how and why our future is bright, and it’s beginning NOW.
