Avaya Named a Leader in Gartner Unified Communications Magic Quadrant

I’ve been telling people about the positive feedback I get as I visit Avaya locations and customers around the world, and we just received another big boost. Gartner has recognized Avaya as a Leader in its 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications, Worldwide—just weeks after we earned our spot in the Leaders quadrant for the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Contact Center Infrastructure.

This is the ninth time that Avaya has been in the Leaders quadrant for UC, reflecting Gartner’s confidence in our completeness of vision and ability to execute, and our ability to continue to deliver innovative, differentiated and valued solutions.

UC is a complex and dynamic market and moving even more rapidly as new digital technologies continue to emerge. The Gartner Magic Quadrant report provides a broad view of vendor positioning across areas including telephony, video, mobility, messaging, meetings and team collaboration. Their assessment is based on an extensive process, reviewing many aspects of business leadership, including product innovation, financial viability, customer experience, sales & marketing execution, and business model.

We noted that Avaya saw the greatest improvement over 2017 results for the eight vendors evaluated. This was based primarily on the strength of our Equinox offering, its hybrid cloud deployment options, improvements in a more seamless client experience and enhancements in workstream collaboration capabilities. Gartner also noted Avaya’s consumption licensing and cloud and managed service offers are making it easier for customers to trust their infrastructure and application services to Avaya and its partners.

Avaya delivers everything customers around the world need to leverage UC to fullest potential, and our solutions continue to evolve to better meet customer needs. For example, the Avaya Equinox app now streamlines collaboration for all communications channels from small business to large enterprise. There’s also our new suite of smart devices, including our just-released J169 and J179 models that have had tremendous adoption in the first quarter with excellent customer feedback.

We continue to invest and deliver innovation across our portfolio to deliver new value to customers, with over $200 million in R&D investment the past year. And we’ve already submitted for 258 new patents in our Fiscal Year 2018. Look for announcements of new capabilities via integration with AI and blockchain, expanding Avaya Cloud options and more—all coming soon.

We are extremely proud that Gartner again named us to the UC Leaders Quadrant, and we appreciate the customer trust that this recognition represents. It also reflects on the deep relationships we have with our clients, providing them with communication applications that enable their organizations to succeed in today’s highly competitive and fast-paced world of digital transformation.
