Recorded Live at the Avaya Partner Connection Day Boston 2013

This past Thursday I had the exciting opportunity to bring the Avaya Podcast Network to the Avaya Partner Connection Day Boston 2013 to record interviews with the leaders of some of Avaya’s most progressive business partners and Avaya executives. The event was held at the newly opened Dave & Busters Restaurant, a 33,000-square-foot entertainment facility located at 250 Granite Street in Braintree Massachusetts.

Over 300 Avaya partners, local employees and event sponsors spent an afternoon of information sharing, networking and no small amount of fun. Melissa Nacerino, Director of US Channel Marketing at Avaya said that the Boston event is part of a series taking place across the Americas intended to instill confidence in the Avaya brand with Avaya’s partners, reinforce the messages about the company’s stability and the strength of the solutions roadmap. The next North American stops for the Avaya Partner Connection Days will be in the Toronto on April 11 and Saint Paul Minnesota on April 25.

Our second conversation originating from the 2013 Avaya Partner Connection Day Boston event is with a group of people representing Northland Communications a full service communications provider servicing Central New York businesses. My guests include James P. McCarthy whose grandfather purchased the company in the 1920’s and whose family has successfully managed the firm since. The group including Brian Healey, Senior Vice President, Director of Sales, Tricia Sticca, Senior Account Executive Lauren Mattia and Sales Engineer Jim Backburn tell us about how Northland Communications builds upon its over 100 year legacy and the rich history of service excellence to keep Northland’s commitment to bring emerging technologies to the communities in Central New York.

We also hear from the new Vice President of Northeast Sales at Avaya, Jim Geary. Jim tells us about his 20 years of experience in the communications industry and his recent arrival to Avaya. Jim talks about the reason why he chose Avaya for his recent career move, what he hopes to accomplish and how he intends to support Avaya customers and the partner community.

We next speak with Area Channel Leader at Avaya Gary Levy in a conversation about Avaya’s partner ecosystem. Gary tells about Avaya’s philosophy towards the partner community. He gives us a brief overview of the large number of resources that Avaya provides to partners. He talks about the support systems and events that the Northeast Region of Avaya sponsors to create a growing and sustainable partner community.

Prior to the event I had the opportunity to speak with the Director of US Channel Marketing at Avaya, Melissa Nacerino. Melissa gave a preview of the Boston Avaya Partner Connection Day event. In the conversation Melissa tells us about the overarching goals of the Partner Connection Days which are to heighten local engagement and to extend Avaya’s strategic and executive messages to a broader partner audience. Melissa tells us these events instill confidence in the Avaya brand, reinforce the messages about the company’s stability and the strength of solution roadmap. Among many other topics, Melissa tells us that these events are intended to create excitement and enthusiasm within Avaya’s partner base. These events are an opportunity to promote Avaya Territory Account Manager and business partner alignment that drives awareness, increases mindshare, enhances brand preference and drives positive selling behavior.
