Deploy Virtual Services Platforms to create an open, next-generation network, based on Avaya’s Fabric Connect (IEEE 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging and IETF 6329) that spans from Data Center to desktop.

Virtual Services Platform 7000
The Virtual Services Platform 7000 is for the Data Center Top of Rack or for the core of a small enterprise. In the Data Center, with its unique Distributed Top of Rack functionality, the Platform addresses the burgeoning demand for east-west, server-to-server traffic. Equipped with ultra-high-speed interconnect ports, a fast, high-capacity virtual backplane can be formed between server racks, improving application performance by reducing server-to-server latency (as much as 25 times). The Platform also offers Avaya Switch Clustering for active/active resiliency, making it a highly reliable small enterprise core switch.

Components
- Virtual Services Platform 7024XLS This top-of-rack switch features 24 fixed 1/10GbE ports using the SFP+ socket for pluggable transceivers. It offers a media-dependent adapter slot, giving the product immense flexibility for future expansion.
- Hot-Swappable AC and DC Power Supplies Providing resiliency and reliability, the Virtual Services Platform 7000 offers hot-swappable and field-replaceable power supplies available in either AC or DC formats. These components also feature directional airflow, actively contributing to the cooling paradigm.
- Hot-Swappable Fan Trays These hot-swappable and field-replaceable fan trays are available in either front-to-back or back-to-front directional airflow formats.
- Media Dependent Adapter The media dependent adapter slot offers immense flexibility for supporting additional high-speed connectivity options. Current options include the 8-port 7008XLS and 7008XT, supporting SFP+ and 10GBASE-T respectively. Future options will include 40Gbps and 100Gbps Ethernet.
