It features the scalability to support up to 96 ports of 10 Gigabit Ethernet or 384 ports of Fast/Gigabit Ethernet using R/RS-Series or 8800 series interface modules and it offers full-featured network virtualization.
- 8800 10-Slot Central Office System This central-office switch is a NEBS-compliant version of the 10-slot 8800, notable for carrier-standard features such as vertically orientated R/RS-Series or 8800 series interface modules and high-capacity fans.
- 8800 6-Slot System This switch provides a robust platform to create the always-on core of a medium-sized network, or as an aggregation device in the distribution layer. Leveraging R/RS-series or 8800 series modules, it supports up to 48 ports of 10 Gigabit Ethernet or 192 ports of Fast/Gigabit Ethernet, and offers full-featured network virtualization capabilities.
