Chris Formant is the Senior Vice President and President, Avaya Government Solutions. Avaya is a global provider of business collaboration and communications solutions.
Avaya Government Solutions is the business unit that provides secure and reliable mission critical communications solutions to Avaya's government customers around the globe.
In this role, Formant is responsible for overall sales, services, IT Services and product management for Avaya's government business. The government business includes relationships with all major DOD, Civilian, Legislative and Advanced Program agencies, as well as foreign governments and US government activities around the globe.
Previously, Formant led Avaya Global Services and was responsible for a number of substantial improvements in financial and operating performance, including increasing gross margin by 15 points over a two-year period.
Under Formant's leadership, customer satisfaction significantly improved, earning the prestigious J.D.Power & Associates certification for two consecutive years, as well as numerous awards from the Technology Services Industry Association.
Prior to joining Avaya, Formant was an executive vice president of BearingPoint, a global management consulting and technology services company, where he was responsible for Global Financial Services and Middle Market.
Formant was named one of the top 25 consultants in the world by Consulting Magazine while at BearingPoint.
Prior to BearingPoint, Formant served as CEO of the technology and internet consultancy firm Scient, senior partner and global banking leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and executive vice president of MBNA Corp. Formant was part of the management team that was responsible for the successful IPO of MBNA in 1991.
Formant has a Bachelor of Science from Washington and Lee University and a Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University.
He currently serves on the board of directors of EMTEC and the leadership board of Roundabout Theatre in NYC.
