Avaya Announces Special Offer to Upgrade DEFINITY® Servers to Support Voice over IP Applications
All companies regardless of their size can now enjoy the benefits of convergence

Avaya Inc., (NYSE:AV) a leading global supplier ofcommunications networks and services for businesses, reaffirmed itscommitment to bring the benefits of convergence to businesses inMexico by offering a special promotion to upgrade Avaya DEFINITYServers. This will allow companies to obtain the benefits of anupdated DEFINITY call center including voice over IP (InternetProtocol) applications as well as other tools that will providecompanies with significant savings on infrastructure-relatedcosts.
By purchasing this upgrade (which is only 10% of what a newswitchboard would cost), companies now have the opportunity toexpand their DEFINITY platform capabilities to include thenext-generation Avaya Communication Manager telephony software,which offers more than 700 features. Companies will also be able toenjoy the benefits of other IP applications such as a moreefficient communication network through the DEFINITY IP Softphone,software that allows calls to be made and received through a PC.The software will also allow for calls to be transferred from oneoffice extension to any other place or mobile phone via a company'sLocal Area Network (LAN).
The offer to update DEFINITY Servers will last until Septemberof this year, and will provide companies with discounts of up to30% off the regular sales price when re-configuring any and allmodels in the DEFINITY product line. In addition, Avaya willprovide different financing options to those companies that have amaintenance and repair contract with Avaya so that the PBX upgradeprocess will not require companies to spend corporate funds thatmay have not been budgeted for.
