All Avaya employees and contractors are required to work safely and ensure that EH&S requirements are integrated into their daily work activities, projects, and programs. In support of this commitment, Avaya’s associates shall:
• Integrate environmental, health, and safety considerations into our products and services throughout their life cycle.
• Maximize environmental, health, and safety performance by maintaining management systems that establish goals and objectives to drive continual improvement.
• Protect and conserve our natural resources by minimizing wastes, managing energy use responsibly, and employing pollution prevention principles.
• Acquaint all Avaya associates with this policy and make it available to the public.
• Commit to comply with applicable global environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations, as well as Avaya standards.

Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Avaya is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees, as well as the environment and communities in which we operate. As part of this commitment, Avaya has a documented Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policy, signed by Pam Craven, our Chief Administrative Officer. This policy governs how our operations and locations function in support of this commitment. The Avaya Global Environmental, Health and Safety (GEH&S) Organization is responsible for facilitating Avaya‘s adherence to this commitment by supporting Avaya‘s Facility Management teams, the Services Organization, and all Avaya employees in addressing relevant EH&S issues and activities. The following sections highlight some of those activities that Avaya is doing from an infrastructure perspective which reflect our commitment to environmental stewardship.

EHS Management System (EHSMS)
Avaya operates a global Environmental, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS). This is a continuous improvement approach which utilizes the standard ISO model - Plan -> Implement (Do) -> Check -> Review (Act) - to ensure the proper management of EH&S risks associated with our locations and services operations. The Avaya EHSMS is a self-service model for locations to systematically and consistently manage administrative EH&S issues. This approach allows Avaya to economically manage these risks while improving performance, reducing adverse impacts to the environment, providing a safe and productive workplace, and ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements.
