SEOUL, KOREA

Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV) a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, today announced the Korean debut of Avaya™ IP Office, its "all-in-one" Internet Protocol (IP) solution for small and mid-sized businesses up to 256 users, which brings the sophistication of big-business voice and data communications to small and mid-sized enterprises at an affordable price.

The company also announced the launch of the Avaya Small and Medium Business Solutions (SMBS) division in Korea, which will focus on developing, marketing and selling communications solutions to meet SMB's needs.

"The SMB market is rapidly growing. Driven by financial pressures, these customers are looking for communications solutions that are easy to implement and manage while allowing lower total cost of ownership and higher ROI," said Junling Liu, general manager SMBS for Avaya Asia Pacific. "Avaya is focused on providing total communications solutions that help small and mid-sized businesses to excel and grow - quickly and cost effectively."

"To meet the growing needs of SMBs for advanced communications solutions driven by IP telephony, Avaya delivers the same capabilities enjoyed by large companies," said James Haensly, Acting Managing Director, Avaya Korea and Chief Technology Officer for Avaya Asia Pacific. "Avaya Korea will work to strengthen market leadership in the SMB market with high performance communications solutions as well as outstanding support to channels and customized services."

The award-winning Avaya IP Office is part of the company's Enterprise Class Internet Protocol Solutions (ECLIPS) portfolio of products, applications and services. Avaya IP Office was designed to deliver "all-in-one" converged voice and data communications solutions to small and medium businesses, eliminating the need for companies to maintain separate voice and data networks. It supports up to 250 users across multiple sites and up to 75 local and remote agents. The sales channel for Avaya™ IP Office in Korea includes Daesin Information Technology Co. Ltd., Matlock Samkwang and Incubetech, who are part of Avaya's BusinessPartner support program.

"IP Office is a logical fit for the small and mid-sized business market, which includes many companies seeking innovative solutions to improve communications and sharpen their competitive edge," said Mr. Haensly. "Avaya is well-positioned to address the demands of the growing small and medium-sized enterprise market, not only with tailored solutions, but also with a strong channel of top-quality distributors and Avaya BusinessPartners."

Avaya IP Office offers a rich feature set and turn-key approach that aligns with the way small and mid-sized companies communicate. For example, IP Office can function as an IP or circuit-switched PBX, offering companies the option to migrate to a fully-converged IP network at their own pace. Additionally, it can provide tailored communications to power a single site, multiple branch office locations or a small, integrated contact center.

Avaya IP Office can support up to two, simultaneous 64-party conferences or multiple smaller conferences. It provides security features for "rendez-vous meet me" conference calls, with pin codes used to control access. Its "virtual private networking" capability makes it easy to offer calling features to remote sites and greater call coverage allows more efficient call management. With better networking and interoperability, IP Office offers more networking options, including the ability to integrate with other telecommunication switches.

"The Avaya IP Office solution contains the features that small and medium-sized enterprises require when it comes to their communications, and its IP capabilities are the standard in helping this market build cost-effective networks," said Hyung Seob Kim, president, Daesin Information Technology, an Avaya BusinessPartner. "We consider the small and mid-sized business market the heart of our business, and Avaya enables us to be more competitive than ever in this sector with IP Office."
