Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of voice and data networks to businesses, today announced that its chairman and CEO, Donald K. Peterson, has been named 2001 "CEO of the Year" for the enterprise market by the strategic market consulting and training firm Frost & Sullivan.

The award recognizes Peterson for leading Avaya through an outstanding year while the telecommunications industry as a whole contracted sharply. Peterson was honored here last evening during a banquet at the Hyatt Hills Resort.
