Avaya and BT Wholesale help Service Providers reach out to small businesses with new voice services package

For Immediate Release: 08-Jun-2009

Guildford, UK – Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, has joined forces with BT Wholesale to create a new communications solution bundle for service providers with small-to-medium size business customers. The voice services bundle will be sold via BT Wholesale’s extensive network of service providers in the UK as part of BT’s ongoing wholesale channel strategy.

The Avaya/BT Communication Solution comprises Avaya’s leading IP Office telephony product, bundled with BT’s Wholesale Calls service and IP Interoperability platform, IP Exchange. Full installation and maintenance support is provided by BT as part of the all inclusive package, which is available to service providers for a one-off payment charge. This “one-stop-shop”, value-added service offering will be made available to and through BT Wholesale’s existing service provider community, who will personally own the relationship with each business customer signing up to the new product and services package.

“The expansion of the BT Wholesale relationship gives Avaya an excellent opportunity to offer our products through an entirely new set of channel partners, helping us to gain a better business footprint in the increasingly competitive small and midsize business segment in the UK,” said Mark Mitchell, head of service providers, Avaya EMEA. “This new channel to market will help more companies, particularly smaller businesses, access the Avaya technology that can help them grow and gain competitive advantage.”

Colin Annette, director of communications service provider group, BT Wholesale, said: “BT Wholesale is committed to helping our network of service providers to take new, innovative end-to-end solutions to market and demonstrate the value they deliver as a communications business partner. This latest collaboration with Avaya gives service providers the opportunity to offer their business customers a voice product and services bundle for a one-off payment price, giving a cost transparency and control that is increasingly important for smaller businesses in today’s economic climate.”
