Avaya continues to execute a strategy focused on Channels

Para publicación inmediata: 07-May-2009

Avaya launched the first of its semi-annual CALA BusinessPartner Advisory Councils to learn more about the needs  and experiences of its BusinessPartners.

As Avaya continues to execute on its high-touch channel-centric strategy, the company today announced that it has launched the CALA Partner Advisory Council, a forum led by key Avaya channel partners. The Council will improve interaction between Avaya and its channel, enabling the latter to have more input into strategies that can drive greater mutual success.

The Council held its first meeting last week in the city of Buenos Aires with a series of conferences. During the conferences, Avaya shared initial results achieved since implementing its channel-centric strategy and measurement against longer term goals.

Avaya has been driving a high-touch channel-centric strategy since earlier this year. The CALA Partner Advisory Council will help develop more programs and activities that both improve and implement Avaya’s go-to-market collaboration with value-added resellers (VARS) and distributors in order to drive continued growth.

“To reach the objectives laid out as part of our channel strategy, it is important to hear about the experiences of our channel; to leverage their strengths and support their needs. Our joint accomplishments will drive growth for all. Avaya has to understand its partners in order to initiate and strengthen changes to the new company model within its business.” says Elizabeth Garcia, Vice-President of Avaya CALA (Caribbean and Latin America).

Avaya will continue working to increase its penetration in key vertical markets during 2009, working closely with BusinessPartners to ensure high availability for Unified Communications (UC), Contact Centers (CC) and Small Medium Enterprise communications technologies.

“We are creating a consistent, global BusinessPartner program that is allowing us to see positive results of this new strategy. As we predicted at the beginning, we are seeing a rise in the sales of company products and services through the channel,” explained Jeremy Butt, vice president, Worldwide Channels, Avaya. “Our BusinessPartners want to work with us: we have thus far created a better environment so that they can sell our products in the best way possible to serve our customers small to large. We aim to be the vendor of choice for both our channels and our customers.”
