TICKETMASTER TURNS TO SCOPIA IN SEARCH OF A SIMPLE, HIGH QUALITY VIDEO SOLUTION

Ticketmaster did not hesitate to replace its previous videoconferencing system with the Scopia system from Avaya after testing its different characteristics, especially image quality and ease of management. Avaya’s business partner Electrotel has been in charge of implementing the solution at the company's offices in Madrid and Barcelona.

The renowned company Ticketmaster, dedicated to the sale and distribution of tickets for concerts and festivals on a national and international level since 2006, had been using a Cisco Webex Meetings videoconferencing solution. This covered the basic need to save on travel and time costs when organizing meetings.

"We had already taken the step to hold meetings remotely, we were used to videoconferencing, we were aware that it was a great advantage in terms of cost and time saved but we were not entirely happy," explains Fernando Mate, head of microcomputing at Ticketmaster. "The solution we had was too cumbersome when setting up videoconferencing, not to mention the poor image quality and continuous interruptions," he adds.

Aware of this need, business partner Electrotel offered the Scopia XT5000 solution with a dual 1080p / 60fps resolution for content and live video. In addition, H.264 High Profile compression delivers maximum bandwidth efficiency and SVC H.264 has a high resistance to network errors.

CHALLENGES

  • Finding an easy-to-use application
  • Offering high quality videoconferencing
  • Adding mobile users to meetings

VALUE CREATED

  • High-Definition equipment
  • Video meetings of up to 9 participants
  • Integration with mobile devices
  • Ease of use with the Scopia application

Higher Quality

"We are a leader in online sales and we had to keep up to date. The change in our meetings has really been radical, sharpness and image quality mean we now enjoy the experience of videoconferencing," he tells us.

Ticketmaster uses Scopia at different locations. At the Barcelona offices, they use the XT5000 system with an MCU that allows up to 9 people to attend conferences and is in turn connected to the offices in Madrid through a Scopia XT4200.

In addition, participants can use Avaya Scopia Desktop Mobile to join video conferences via latest generation mobile devices, allowing connection from any device and any location (BYOD).

Simplicity

Another outstanding advantage for Mate is the simplicity of use of Scopia, which is very intuitive and user-friendly. In addition, XT5000 is enabled with Multi-Touch Control technology via the Apple iPad.

Ticketmaster and Electrotel will continue to work together on implementing new Scopia XT5000 equipment in another room of the Barcelona offices.
