  • Transformation to 21st century networking technology enables TBC to effortlessly expand HD, multicasting streaming services, while ensuring an outstanding viewing experience
Taipei, Taiwan – Avaya today announced that Taiwan Broadband Communications (TBC), one of the leading multi-system cable operators in Taiwan, has completed the transformation of its technology network to Avaya Fabric Connect. This transformation enables TBC to deliver a superior customer experience and continuously bringing new content to its increasing base of subscribers.

TBC serves over 750,000 cable TV households with about 180 channels of local and international content on its analogue and digital TV (DTV) platforms.  TBC’s growing subscribers, combined with a boom in demand for HD differentiated content, and the company’s relentless efforts in delivering outstanding, uninterrupted quality services to its customers, have underpinned the need to transform the network backbone of TBC.

Avaya Fabric Connect proved to be a business enabler to TBC. With an expanded capacity of 10GB, a 99.999% proven network reliability ensuring HD multicast streaming continuity, TBC can now effortlessly expand the capacity of network and ensure service continuity as the number of users grows and as the company adds new HD content and DTV multicast streams.

With the new Fabric Connect network from Avaya, TBC is able to quickly provision new services to its team and customers alike. The reduction in complexity of network management and shorter time to market is due to Avaya’s single protocol approach of Avaya Fabric Connect which dramatically reduces the complexity associated with management of the network architecture and where new services are added to the fabric edge.  As a result, not only will the network be more agile and available, but new service delivery will also be much faster, easier to implement and almost entirely risk-free.

TBC’s new network infrastructure enables the company to roll out future customer and team engagement solutions as employees and customers become more mobile and require services anytime, anywhere and on any device.

With Avaya Fabric Connect, TBC can easily optimize usage and traffic on its network layers 2 and 3 ensuring highest transmission quality to its customers in the four cities where it operates, while guaranteeing critical business traffic transmission for its DTV signals and contact center operations.

TBC has always been devoted to provide first-rate services to customers. The new network infrastructure will enhance availability of the contact center, and will make it easier for TBC to add new interaction channels in the future, such as video, so as to further enhance customer engagement.

Avaya Fabric Networking Solutions deliver a simplified, agile and resilient network infrastructure to provide the application performance that supports team and customer engagement. It uses a single protocol and minimal touch points, for simplicity and low risk configuration, network-wide consistency and dependability to deliver the agility businesses need. The Avaya solutions center on unified access, network virtualization and cloud integration.
