Singapore – Avaya, a global provider of business communications and collaboration systems and services, today announced that it has been awarded the 2014 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Video Collaboration Growth Excellence Leadership Award. The award was received at an Awards Banquet in Singapore on October 16th.
The Frost & Sullivan Growth Excellence Award is given each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence across two facets - growth strategy, and implementing and sustaining that growth within shipments, revenues, and profitability. The award recognizes Avaya’s leadership ability to sustain growth in the short term and the
long term as measured by the quality of its vision, people, processes, and policies. Both the ability to generate and evaluate growth strategies at best practices levels, and to implement them effectively, are key criteria in the award process.
In an age when mobility, BYOD and cloud-based applications are driving much of the technology buying in companies across the Asia Pacific region, Avaya is focused on delivering mobile video collaboration solutions that achieve richer engagement levels among teams, and drive productivity enhancements, cost savings, and new revenue growth. Avaya Scopia video collaboration solutions are delivering these and other benefits to customers across the region – from Bawaslu in Indonesia, the organisation responsible for supervising the country’s recent elections, to Thailand’s premier Internet data center service provider TRUE IDC, to countless financial institutions, hospitality venues, Government agencies and healthcare providers throughout APAC.
The power of video is becoming increasingly valued by companies of all sizes – as it brings together disparate teams, delivers enhanced levels of engagement for home-workers and those who are frequently on the road, and delivers a richer collaboration experience resulting in quicker, more impactful meetings and better business results. The Avaya solution is accessible from any device – from room-based and Telepresence suites, to desktops, smartphones and tablets – with a simple user interface, one-click or one-touch access, full functionality to share voice, video, data and instant messaging in real-time – allowing users to share in the same engaging experience, regardless of where they are, which device they are using or how much bandwidth they have available to them. One innovative application of the technology has been deployed by a number of city-based commercial banks across China, with an Avaya Video Teller Machine solution helping them to accelerate their expansion and deliver enhanced customer service.
The rapid way in which video can improve the way a company works is typified by Avaya’s internal deployment of our own technology. Each month we now host on average around 40,000 video calls bringing together well over 300,000 participants. People are more engaged – as a picture is worth a thousand words. Teamwork has increased – especially with co-workers in different locations. Our people can access the same video capabilities from the office, their home, the airport, the back of a taxi or a customer’s site. Our decision making speed has accelerated dramatically. And we have saved money, time and the environment in slashing travel – reducing our total travel miles by 44% in less than 2 years – that represents 1,777 times around the world and millions of dollars saved - and reducing our total CO2 emissions by 46% (some 8,768 metric tons) in the same period.
“Avaya continued its strong momentum in solution innovation and go-to-market strategy across key countries in Asia Pacific in 2013. Its fully integrated unified communication and video collaboration solutions have created a compelling value proposition for both existing and new customers. Leveraging on its extensive go-to-market reach, Avaya designed and executed adaptive sales and marketing strategies across countries in the region, which effectively boosted the branding for its flagship solution Scopia and sales in the mid-market and SMB sectors. Consequently, its revenue grew by over 20% in the video collaboration market in 2013, well ahead of the market average.  It also increased its market share and its penetration in key verticals such as banking, education and government..”
- Jessie Yu, Industry Manager, Unified Communication and Collaboration, Asia Pacific ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan
