  • Avaya's collaboration platform recognized for strength in delivering comprehensive capabilities and interoperability in IP Telephony and UC Markets
  • Avaya's Scopia video conferencing solutions elevated to Champion status, reflecting superior UC integration, affordability and feature set
Santa Clara, Calif. – Avaya today announced it has received "Champion" ratings in the unified communications (UC) and video conferencing markets from Info-Tech Research Group, a leading research firm specializing in applications, infrastructure and strategy and leadership.

The recognition reflects global strength in these markets, and appears in two just-released Info-Tech Research Group Vendor Landscape reports designed to help enterprises select collaboration and communications solutions. Info-Tech reports categorize vendors in one of four zones: Champions, Market Pillars, Innovators and Emerging Players.

In the 2013 Info-Tech Landscape report on IP Telephony/Unified Communications, Avaya was recognized in the top rating, Champion, for the comprehensive UC capabilities, interoperability, and architecture delivered by the company's Avaya Aura® platform. In their report, Info-Tech Research Group added, "Avaya has impressive features, in terms of mobility and integration capabilities with other UC solutions."

In a separate report -- the 2013 Info-Tech Vendor Landscape report on Video Conferencing solutions -- Avaya's Scopia video conferencing solutions rose to the Champion zone due to strengths including a "strong focus on IP Telephony (IPT) and UC interoperability." Other positive elements included:  "proven Scopia software, a unique iPad control app for high-end systems, desktop and mobile solutions, and Avaya Aura’s architecture, which should lead to rapid advances in the integrated UC experience."

Champions are defined by Info-Tech Research Group as vendors that receive high scores for most evaluation criteria and offer excellent value. They have a strong market presence and are usually the trend setters for the industry. Info-Tech’s Vendor Landscape reports evaluate selected vendors in a space based on factors including: features, usability, affordability, architecture, visibility, strategy, reach and channel.
