Status Solutions' SARA Solution Now Rated "Avaya Compliant"

17 Apr 2012
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Status Solutions, provider of emergency alert systems, today announced that its SARA (Situational Awareness and Response Assistant) software is compliant with key collaboration solutions from Avaya, a global provider of business collaboration systems, software and services.

SARA is an automated alerting engine that integrates disparate alarm systems, sending managed voice and text alerts to designated communication devices (e.g., cell phones, landlines, pagers, emails, computer screens, PA systems, etc.). By ensuring that the right information gets to the right people at the right time on the right devices, action can be taken to protect people, property and business operations. SARA includes a wireless sensor network, integration tools for existing alarm and communication systems, and mass notification in one powerful platform, which is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya IP Office Release 8.0.

"We're pleased to be part of Avaya's DevConnect program because we know that our joint customers will benefit from innovations that are based on open, standards-based platforms," says Mike MacLeod, president of Status Solutions. "Users of Avaya IP deskphones with a SARA interface can implement a situational awareness strategy easily and cost effectively, getting more out of their communication infrastructures in terms of real-time alerting and mass notification to prevent ignorance-based loss. There are no second chances when it comes to safety and security."

Status Solutions is a Technology Partner in the Avaya DevConnect program—an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

As a DevConnect Technology Partner, Status Solutions is eligible to submit products for compliance testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab. There, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compatible. Doing so enables businesses to confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure—speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"Status Solutions' Situational Awareness and Response System has undergone formalized interoperability testing," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations at Avaya. "By working with independent technology companies through the Avaya DevConnect program to assess compatibility, this helps us ensure that Avaya customers can confidently leverage and upgrade to our latest solutions."
