China's Lian Life Adopts Avaya IP Office to Enhance Collaboration and Save on Communications Expenses

  • System provides rich features to facilitate faster collaboration
  • Company estimates 30 percent saving of communications costs
  • System can accommodate future growth while protecting technology investment
BEIJING, China – Avaya, a global provider of business communications and collaboration systems and services, announced that Lian Life Insurance Co., Ltd (Lian Life) of Jiangsu Province has enhanced collaboration and saved communications cost by 30% with Avaya IP Office solutions. The Avaya system, which also includes the Avaya 8300 Media Server, efficiently connects Lian Life's headquarters and branch offices, and can grow with the company’s expansion within and beyond Jiangsu Province.
Lian Life, established in July 2011, was looking for a highly efficient communications solution that would help it win in the competitive life insurance market. The ideal solution would provide its employees with advanced capabilities to communicate and collaborate, and provide the IT department with a simple way of managing and expanding the system.  And of course this should all be achieved in a cost effective way.
Avaya came up with an integrated solution that comprises Avaya IP Office, the company's flagship solution for small and medium enterprises (SME), which is deployed in Lian Life's 8 major branch offices within the province, and also the Avaya S8300 Media servers, which sit in the Lian Life headquarters building and the branch office in Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu. The company will deploy Avaya IP Office in five more branch offices in the province which are opening soon. The Avaya system provides rich features such as voice call, voice mail, call forwarding, and conferencing to facilitate collaboration among the staff. Avaya IP Office can support up to 128-way "meet-me" conferencing. A single dial plan is in place so that employees can contact each other by simply dialing an extension number no matter where they are located.
Since all the internal telephone calls go through an IP network, communication cost savings could be as much as 30%, according to Lian Life's estimation.
The whole system can be administered centrally from headquarters which makes it very easy to manage and upgrade. Lian Life plans to expand its business to other markets beyond Jiangsu, such as Beijing and Shanghai, within the next couple of years. When the need arises, Lian Life can upgrade to an Avaya Aura platform, and still keep the current installations as an integral part of the new system, which means significant savings on investment.
"Lian Life has very high expectations of the communications system, which needs to provide excellent levels of support for our rapidly growing business, and also accommodate our future expansion plan. The Avaya solution has provided a reliable and flexible platform which we can count on so that we can focus on our core business."
-- Liu Zhenghuan, President of Lian Life
"The life insurance market is very competitive in China and effective real-time collaboration is essential for companies to be able to deliver superior service to their customers. Avaya solutions can help companies like Lian Life to unleash 'The Power of We' - delivering faster collaboration, enabling smarter decision-making resulting in a better business result for them and their customers."
