Telekom Brunei's SiPADU Chooses Avaya's People-centric Collaboration Solutions

21 Feb 2011
BRUNEI – Avaya, a global leader in enterprise communications systems, software and services, today announced that SiPADU Systems, the ICT solutions integration subsidiary of Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru), has selected Avaya as its technology provider for its Unified Communications (UC) managed services offering for government and corporate customers. Leveraging Avaya's UC technology, SiPADU will be able to deploy cost effective and productivity enhancing UC solutions for clients with workforces between 50 to 4,000 employees - giving its customers the ability to connect employees in real-time, using simple and cost-effective collaboration tools such as voice, instant messaging, presence and video.
SiPADU Systems chose Avaya's UC solution for its reliability and lower total cost of ownership. "On average, Avaya customers are reporting that our UC solutions save them approximately 23 percent in capital expenditures and another 33 percent in operating expenditures," said Ray Teske, Managing Director Avaya, ASEAN. "These are significant savings for Asia Pacific businesses, which allow them to reinvest in revenue generating activities."
"SiPADU Systems is in the business of creating value and tangible economic benefits for its customers and Avaya's UC platform is a perfect fit for our clients' business," said General Manager of SiPADU Systems, Saharalidin Abd Momin. "We have invested in Avaya's UC solution simply because it offers real-time, multi-media, multi-session and multi-device business communications and collaboration - with greater security, scalability and flexibility than any other communications solution in the market," he said.
SiPADU Systems has also deployed Avaya S8800 servers to support high-end telephony performance, along with Avaya Modular Messaging solution providing features such as call answering, voice messaging, and speech capabilities. SiPADU is also deploying Avaya one-X video licenses and the web-based softphone solution Avaya one-X Portal that provides workers with control of telephony, conferencing, messaging, mobility administration, and access to corporate and personal contact information.
"Today's knowledge workers are becoming increasingly mobile and work environments frequently change. Workers may be at a desk in the office, an alternate location within the office, at a customer location, in the car, in a hotel room, or at a home or a virtual office," said Teske. "UC is an indispensable investment for businesses looking to boost employee productivity and mobility and ultimately enhancing their agility to deliver services and meet business challenges in real-time and from any location."
SiPADU Systems will deploy an Avaya UC solution for its first UC solutions customer, the Brunei Economic Developmental Board in 2011. SiPADU Systems anticipates it will deploy up to 2,000 UC licenses and offer as the 1st hosted based unified communication as manage service in Brunei in the next six months.
