Cisco's Not On Board, but is Shortest Path Bridging Winning?

11 May 2012
Jim Duffy of Network World wonders if Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) is winning the data center fabric standards battle after attending a panel session on the topic at Interop. The article highlights ideas from the panel by Avaya's Paul Unbehagen and reveals that questions from the audience focused almost exclusively on SPB. Of all the presentations, Duffy says, Avaya’s SPB talk was the only one to provide an example of a production deployment of SPB. Cisco has no plans to support SPB, said Francois Tallet, Nexus 7000 product manager. “We’re doing TRILL,” he says.
