My Research

My current research is focused on providing solutions to protect VoIP systems against DoS attacks, and protecting computers against buffer overflow attacks.


Projects

One of my current projects is Enhancing DoS Tolerance in VoIP systems. The aim of this project is to enhance the tolerance against DoS attacks such that the VoIP components keep on providing the service gracefully during and after the DoS attack.


Publications

In 2000 I co-authored a paper, “Transparent Run-Time Defense Against Stack Smashing Attacks” which was presented at USENIX Annual Technical Conference. I’ve authored several other technical papers on the subject of enhancing DoS tolerance, computer security, system reliability, and testing and evaluation of fault tolerant systems using fault injection techniques. These papers were featured in Journals and technical conferences.
