Tom Mitchell is Senior Vice President and President, Avaya Go to Market. Avaya is a global leader in business communications and collaboration, providing unified communications, contact centers, data solutions and related services to organizations of all sizes around the world.
 
In this role, Tom oversees the team to bring cross-functional discipline, strategy and accountability to the critically important task of creating and operationalizing our customer focused, channel engaged go-to-market strategy. Tom leads channel transformation efforts along with the architecture and policy management for the Reseller, System Integrator and Service Provider channels. Tom is responsible for accelerating the velocity of our SME, Data and Video Go-to-Market efforts while creating new paths for capturing market share in areas such as cloud computing.
 
Tom has a proven track record developing and implementing complex global go-to-market strategies. Prior to joining Avaya in 2010, Tom had been a consultant for 6 plus years specializing in developing and refining those strategies in the IT marketplace. His clients have ranged from small companies to established multinational corporations with large product and service revenue streams.
 
From 1992-2002, Tom was Senior Vice President at Cisco, recruited to design and implement one of the first "high-touch" channel models in the industry. In that role, he led some 1800 employees in Cisco's channel sales and marketing, telesales, field sales engineering and professional services sales organizations. Before joining Cisco, Tom spent nine years at Motorola in roles of increasing responsibility within the sales and marketing organization.
