Today, I wanted to share and highlight a youtube video that highlights Avaya's sustainable solutions and visions. This video takes interviews with several Avaya leaders (including my boss, Geoffrey Baird, our sustainability officer) and weaves together a comprehensive vision of our sustainability program and approach. Check it out below.
Description from Youtube
Avaya's technology and public policy leaders share insights about how the company is helping customers lower their carbon footprint while reducing voice and data costs. Avaya innovations - led by Avaya Aura™ span unified communications, contact centers and data networking
My brief thoughts, although I am more interested in what you think
I think the take-home message from this production is that we see sustainability as 'A win-win for business partners, Avaya and the environment.' I also enjoyed the articulation of the 3 principle drivers we are seeing towards sustainability 1) Deliver on what the world is demanding, 2) Legislative demand and 3) Right thing to do.
The last thing I hope you take from the video is the concrete goals we have internally for our product/solution portfolio. Having measurable and reportable goals are driving results within our product house, which is the most reliable way to get results. Our goals include a 20% reductions in key product lines by 2012, reduce power draw from phone and virtualization servers so that a single server can do the work previously required on many discrete servers.
